We also should try to contact some of our truly great musicians & ask them if they do not want to remix their old tracks or maybe even want to help us create a dynamic soundtrack for the game by cutting their tracks into sections & making some new sections, which would then enable us then to change between this (long loop) sections via code to reflect the action on the battlefield dynamically in the sound played.

Although this would be a very ambitious project, it would help to further deepen the atmosphere of our game & the immersion into the game for the player. Also this would make the sound played variate more & in dynamic, different unpredictable ways, which would make listening experience much less monotonous...
I realize that this involves some work from the artists side, a little bit of work from the coders view, quite some work from the organizing part, but I think it would well be worth the effort. I would volunteer to work out a concept on how to realize this with the least effort & precise organization, if you agree that this is a good idea & worth implementing into our game...

We would need to get the sound artists motivated, that may be the biggest problem, so this feature request wil maybe just 'Rest In Peace' here, but maybe this also will be realized some day...

The idea for it is written down @ least ;)

I uploaded 2 music files (dynamictest-battle-41-74sec,ogg and dynamictest-normal-08-35sec.ogg) in case you need some music for tests someday. 41-74 and 08-35 are timestamps for the loop/transition. If there is some fadeout (echo effects...) mixed into the following part, the music will sound more natural.
