Bugs in stable version (2.5) / shooting over kneeling soldiers

I was under the impression that it was now possible to safely shoot from behind another soldier, as long as he's crouched and the shooter is standing in an adjacent square? Does this apply diagonally? I successfully shot a friend in the back of his head, as in the screenshot

In old mine map, at ground level square on the planks in front of soldier is impassable for no apparent reason, the square by the barrels (where the cursor is) also looks like it should be passable, but is not

Linux / compiling problems

I had 2.5 compiled and working on ubuntu 12.04 before, I hadn't played in a long time and after recently installing 14.04 I wanted to see what's new and headed to get the source, but I guess I must be doing something wrong... I can't find an executable to launch the game after compiling??

I read through the instructions pages best I could and got the source with

and dependecies

sudo dpkg -i ufoai-build-deps_2.5-dev-1_all.deb
sudo apt-get -f install

I'm not seeing any errors returned from running these, but then
./configure

Artwork / Cars in battle maps

Heyall,

I haven't been on the forum or playing the game in a while, recently I've started to get in modelling (blender) and I remembered ufo:ai needed models of futuristic cars for the maps. Is this still the situation or have the eighties and nineties already had their cars back?

ufo:ai runs fine on low end machines assuming one cuts down on resolution, but I find frame rates strangely low in comparison to some commercial games - for an example valve's gpu stress test at full hd resolution gives me >150 fps but in ufoai battlescape I'm getting 40-50 fps at the same resolution. Just tried Alien Arena and I'm seeing higher fps in that as well. Something to do with my system perhaps? Gameplay in ufoai isn't fps-critical though, just wondering...

Feature Requests / civilian rescue on mission abort

Currently if a mission is aborted, all civilians will be accounted dead. Civilians that are still alive and with phalanx operatives in the rescue zone when mission is aborted, should be saved; if our soldiers got away, they should have, too.

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / fueldump bomb won't work?

I just got stuck in the fueldump map, I took the bomb to that weird floating green gas and got the "item placed" message, and then nothing. I let it sit there for a few rounds, nothing, moved it about a bit and got the same message again, but... here's some log. I'd put this in the tracker but I can't remember my password or my username for it  :-[

This probably sounds familiar already but I forgot to write down the name of this map... It has been around for a while so I think we all recognize it. So, there are two adjacent squares that soldiers can't move through:
