Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/feature-requests/401 Item 401] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 20:20:07

In 2.2.1, stable, Ufo-Ai would force a gamma change on startup. However, it only did it once. This meant that the completely unusable gamma option could be fixed by going into another display calibration program, and setting it properly.

In 2.3 trunk, Ufo-AI is constantly forcing its concept of the correct gamma, even when it isn't the active app.

So what's the problem? Ufo-AI only permits a single "gamma" adjustment to an otherwise linear gamma. That means that if the display has any color correction problems, then the screen will be bleeped.

On the mac, specifically, there is a very nice, and detailed color calibrator that allows making a nearly perfect (white point issues aside) calibrated screen, that adjusts for both light and dark color errors.

Yet Ufo-AI thinks that it is smarter than that, and refuses to let any other calibration tool do its job.

OS: Mac os 10.5.6

there was a little patch for this introduced in r23602 - but i think the main problem might still not be solved - feedback is welcome (speaking about 2.3-dev of course)
