There're two small inaccessible areas in the lab-part
of the base-defence-map.Please see attached images.

yes, I had the same problems - many areas of the base are
"blocked" (can't walk on). Examples: workshop and laboratory.
Besides, in case of an attack, the squad should start
somewhere at the entrance, in defending positions, not
spread accross the base. If the base got time to evacuate
noncombatants, than soldiers got enough time to get at the
entrance.

If everybody starts at the entrance, why the all big map of
the whole base? The aliens come through the entrance (or
hangars?) Maybe everybody starting in the command room?
(where they have just planned the defense :) )
