Currently selection of a building points you to the
Ufopedia, but i think in most cases you want to see the
additional info about _this_ particular building and
not general info about this type of building.

Proposal:
When selecting the building you enter the "Buildings"
menu and the building-info is displayed in the field on
the bottom of the screen (the same as it is when you
contruct buildings)
To access the ufopedia entry i think a button in the
"Buildings" menu that takes you there would be enough.
