As the title says: If the inventory is not (really)
restricted by weight/size (e.g. the cargo hold of the
bases/ships) just display every type of
weapon/ammo/item once with a number next to it with the
total number (of course loaded/unlaoded weapons wil be
a problem, as will be partly used up ammo)

You can store every weapen unloaded, that would solve one
problem.
Partly used ammo can be solved by storing individual
bullets instead of clips...
I might look in to this one... But not before february...

That would indeed solve the 'problem' ... it would be even
cooler to to the following:

* Store weapons (unloaded) and ammo seperated.
* Rearrange ammo(bullets) so that the fullest-possible clips
are the result. (e.g 30+25+25+11 bullets with a max of 30
bullets/clip will result in 30+30+30+1 bullets.)
* Auto-load weapons with ammo-type that is selected in a
menu (e.g AP, EX, INC, whatever) when equiping the soldiers
by hand.

This is without 'auto re-equip' in mind though. So it would
need some re-design.

Soldier inventory is restricted by size and will be by
weight. I'm not sure if the proposal changes much for the
base inventory. Partial ammo is done already. Please test
and submit another feature request if something is missing.
