After merging the soldiers, when I load my campaign (2.5) my soldiers have no heads. In skirmish mode they have heads, so probably a problem trying to locate the old head skins which don't exist anymore.

Save and ufoconsole.log attached.

not the skins - but the models. that will be hardly fixable without a hack. let's see what we can do about it.

What if you did a check when a campaign is loaded to see if the specified models exist. If not, you can read the team models data from the UFO script and randomly assign a new model of the same gender.

This would make it useful for future changes, rather than hacking it to point specifically to the new models.

Game crashes when entering mission. From save game loads soldiers without heads and on entering mission there are a lot of errors like:

Changed save to point to existent head models. Game is playable but hangs on exit (had to kill) with error

I got the same error that nokim got (ERROR: LE_GetDrawModel: Could not find model 16).

It happens in campaign when I try to enter a mission. Attached is the ufoconsole.log showing two attempts to enter separate maps in campaign (lots of "Remove pending event" lines). Also attached the events.log (chopped to just include events from this game load).

i'm sorry - i broke my own fix in the next commit
cabb29e4df8cd6209cca22a9793d807d447e815f broke it again, 12a0efb1f46e1adf4391d80f10858e7c68aa5646 fixed it again.
