Actually both are valid spellings, only authorisation is more common in England, remember most of the devs are from Europe so you'll see a lot of: authorisation, colour, armour, centre, grey and so on as opposed to forms more common in the US.

btw wasn't the original writer Winter? He's British I think, that would explain.
