you have to restart the game after unticking the fullscreen option

the black screen issue is resolved by removing the alt+enter feature from windows (it was broken there anyway - it's the same reason why vid_fullscreen cvar change does not change the screen to fullscreen on-the-fly)

ok i found out why it was ignoring full screen options the installer sets +set vid_fullscreen 1 in the target of the start menu shortcut

E:\Games\UFOAI-2.4-dev\ufo.exe +set vid_fullscreen 1 +set snd_init 1
