Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/bugs/2566 Item 2566] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 19:39:33

Revision 30505, 2.3 branch. There is a problem in the video options menu that crashes the game with an assert failure in RELEASE mode. I encountered this when attempting to adjust multisample buffers, the number was originally at zero, and after clicking the up arrow it jumped to "4", and then the game crashed.

I will try to reproduce this and find the exact line with the assert that failed. I just hope it isn't too late before 2.3 goes out...

This is on Windows 7, 64 bits.

please let us know when you find the exact line.

src\cli...\m_input_c:395

capturedNode == NULL
====== bayo-fr (2010-06-14 08:47:26) ======

then u can reproduce it with Ubuntu?
====== destructavator (2010-06-14 12:23:52) ======

This particular machine doesn't have Ubuntu installed on it right now, sorry. It's only (single-boot) Windows 7, 64-bit. I've been thinking about putting Ubuntu on it alongside Win7, but I would need to clean up the hard drive and prepare the partitions for installing it, etc., and I might not have time to do something like that for at least a day or two. I do have a different machine running Ubuntu, I can try to reproduce the issue on that machine, but it has different hardware.

====== destructavator (2010-06-14 14:05:47) ======

Yes, it happens on Ubuntu as well, on another machine.

i got the same problem on Windows XP with nvidia 7600 card... with multisample buffers and swap interval. im sure it happends for destructavator on swap interval to if he got the same problem please check this out.
====== koboldx (2010-06-16 10:00:10) ======

i just find out that swap interval and multisample buffers crashed with exactly the same error message from C++ report, just that what destructavator posted here already.

i have to say the game dont crashed exactly after im changed the options... it looks like it switched the settings but it crashed after another click on interface anywhere.

btw my windows XP is 32bit
