I get Harvester UFO's at the start of the game (UFO #3). They absolutely trashed my interceptors. I lost a bunch before I realised they weren't low-level UFO's. As someone who's been "trained" on the original Xcoms (all of them), harder UFO's should appear later. Also it's not obvious that harvesters are tougher than scouts visually - they all look the same size.

Also I can't visually tell apart a scout from a fighter, they look practically identical.

I can distinguish them, and you will be able to, after a bit playing.

And be calm, harder UFOs will come at mid/late campaign (but yet they need to be implemented). ;)

Sorry for being blunt but you do NOT rely on the user to do something "after a bit of playing". They should be able to tell the difference at a glance the first time they see one, otherwise it's poor design.

As to harder UFO's - I again re-iterate that the Harvester is too hard for early game GeoScape. Battlescape is dead easy but Geoscape the player has no chance of killing it without considerable firepower.
