Please add COLLADA support for models. More info and a C++ library can be found at http://opencollada.org/.
Alternatively, if it's feasible, there is also the FBX SDK http://www.autodesk.com/fbx

Both formats are popular and support by in equal amounts.

I also found this library that includes a whole bunch of format and is released under the BSD Licencse: http://assimp.sourceforge.net/
