A simple Co-op Mode to play with other players on the same side in Kampagne (Story Mode). Lowest player Time Setting used as global setting. Other players may assist in battles or join after on has started by flying with a transport to the location, spawning at the Transports location (at their own risk). In the future this mode could be tweaked for linked research but having longer research time or resources transfer between player with special transports that can be shoot down by ufos...that could trigger "rescue missions" etc.

i agree that this would be cool - but that won't happen anytime soon.

we would have to make everything in the campaign event driven, too - to be able to send and parse it to/from the netchannel. also the problem would be to sync this up - what if one player starts a battle - what do the others, in the meantime if they don't want that battle? a lot of stuff wouldn't be clear here. but we are accepting patches ;)

if one player starts a battle the timeline would continue but on the slowest setting for the others. They still could be able to join in, flying there with "emergency speed" but this decision can't be aboarded or changed afterwards. The story and all would stay the same for everyone and for comfort every player would progress togther. They would share resources and tech. This could be split up in the future and something like transfers could be build in with flying transports from A to B that could be shoot down by UFO's and trigger missions.

If you'd build in some scripted event that's something like a base attack on the player, then this would choose one player on random and the other/s could assist in its defense.

A player and their base that is in battle will be ingnored temporarily by UFO's.
