Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/feature-requests/452 Item 452] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 20:20:07

According to various in game descriptions many if not most Alien weaponry is not well suited to human use due to the shape of their grips, stocks etc. reading the description of Particle Beam Weaponry (the part where the weapons themselves were easy to fabricate) gave me an idea. After researching a type of alien weapon you should be able to research and later construct weapons that are better suited to being held and fired (or in the case of the kerrblade swung) . In game the weapons should inflict roughly the same damage as originals but require less TUs and have higher accuracy and would naturally use the same kinds of ammunition (maybe a different paint job would also be good). Perhaps the Adapted Particle Cannon could be a shoulder fired variant instead of hip fired and there could be a kerrsword that would shaped more like a katana (similar grip too) but of course use monomolecular blade technology.
