if it is not possible yet to research something, research info window should show the reason - for example, i was unable to perform autopsies (greyed out), but i had no idea why so.

After a quick talk to winter we added a different status message for not-yet-researchable entries to svn:
"Status: We don't currently have all the materials or background knowledge needed to research this topic."

If we need a more detailed description why something can not be researched I think adding some hints in the (pre-research) description itself would be the best way to go. But that's my opinion :)
After all, at the time the text pops up we do not know for sure what the needed techs look like, only that we need some more research on a specific thing.
