There is the message: "%s has been promoted to %s.\n"
For the rank (second %s) you use the term in nominative. The problem is that this sentence in German needs the rank in dative ("Gefreiten" instead of "Gefreiter").

Sorry, I forgot to include a proposal for a solution:
The problem can be fixed by adding another msgid for the "promoted rank" and using that for the sentence above.
There may even be better solutions (unfortunately I am no gettext expert...)

Mind that in the near future (almost) all messages will be incorporated into mail client (we still need a good solution for that), so we should take care about proper gettext usage in this solution.
