<mattn2> i think we can implement useable cars, too - if some modeller would make additional animations to our current character models (at least the soldier models)
<mattn2> the only things to do are: assign a tag_seat to the car model - generate a seat animation/pose for the character models

I doubt mattn meant that as a real suggestion, but more of a sarcastic/joke one :)

What uses would cars bring in the battlescape? Traveling faster? Gimme a break. Tanks I could understand, but since they can&#039;t play out their advantages in most maps that we have .. not to speak of deployment.

I&#039;ll just mark this as closed since it&#039;s more of a joke than a real feature request. Feel free to rant about htat :)

this wasn&#039;t a joke - i just told about the possibility. but that don&#039;t mean that i will implement it :-D

nevertheless the workflow would be the same for tanks or turrets (even if they are not moveable)

Well, this is a _feature request_ for "useable cars", if nobody finds reasons to change the status to open again I don&#039;t see a reason it to change it :)

C&#039;mon people, there isn&#039;t even one sentence (Ok, some might call "useable cars" a sentence) in here by somebody else than myself that tries to make this a valid (or invalid) feature request.
_Why_ do we want usable cars (in ufoai), how should they work, where do they come from (from inside map? - deployed?), how would they influence the balance/gameplay etc. ...
At this point we haven&#039;t even reached the "how could we implement it" stage, to the irc log above is kind of pointless here, but nice to know later on.
