It would be useful to have a "minimap" feature the
player can use to toggel between a comprehensive
overview of the map, and the combat camera.

Implementation idea: The view of the battlefield should
be a fixed camera in the centre of the map, much like
the combat camera is when you zoom it out all the way
and point it straight down. All aliens should be
represented not as models but as red markers. Player
units should be green markers, and civilians should be
blue markers. In multiplayer, the markers should be
colored according to team numbers.

The markers should be visible on all floors; a filled
marker when the unit is on the current floor view, an
outline marker when it is above the current floor view
and a small outline marker when it is below the current
floor view.

Perhaps the markers could be + or - (like counterstrike changes symbols on radar) depending on whether you are higher or lower than the object.

There could be layers like Xcom2 terror from the deep "Scanner" where only a soldier with the scanner can see this view, and they can choose the "level" they are looking at bottom 2nd floor, 3rd floor.
