`set sv_threads "1" a` is now in config and I never changed it.

Then it's most likely related to our current problem with threading and memory corruption.
I assume you could play other missions where reaction fire worked nicely ?

Then you should set sv_threads to 0 to avoid this and other crashes.
I'll close this item, but we can reopen it if you encounter the same crash with threads=0 OR after we declared the memory corruption 'fixed' (will be announced).
