Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/bugs/338 Item 338] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 18:18:28

I just compiled from svn last night.
When I start the game the menu interface is really
slow. Changing graphics options didn't help. The mouse
pointer moves about once each second.
I then recompiled with fragment programs disabled, MMX
enabled and -march=pentium-m. It was a bit faster but
still unuseable.

This is on Debian/unstable on a Pentium M 1.73 Ghz, 2
GB of RAM, i915 graphics.
rc4 runs fine in Windows XP on the same system.

The same problem, also i915 graphics, Pentium M 1.73,
Kubunty Edgy. Maybe UFO:AI uses extensively some OpenGL
function that is not implemented in hardware by DRI i915
driver?
