Using latest master, the game throw an error to console when it tries to get an alternate skin reference for an alien model. To replicate: Single Player > Skirmish > Team > Choose Taman/Bloodspider/Ortnok > New. I get the following error:

ERROR: CL_GetTeamSkinName: Unknown skin id 1

I suspect this is a bug introduced with the recent changes to get hovernet working.

fixed in 6bbd94dab9df88f22311a80bd6a17dde8048819a

this was a bug that was introduced in the actor skin scripting and pops up due to the new soldier models only having one skin.
