I am talking about missions with landed ufo here. The 'ufos' section in the mapdef determines what type of ufo the map can be used for. We have two groups of maps there. Group A has one/some certain ufos defined, group B uses an empty section for 'fits any ufo type'.
For my understanding group B maps can and should be used with any type of landed ufo.

In fact this happens : If there is a landed ufo, always and only maps from group A are used. This way the map selection excludes nearly half of our maps from those battlescape missions.
