Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/bugs/3129 Item 3129] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 20:02:17

This is a bug report for Origin's new soldier models in the soldiermodels branch.

See the attached screenshot. The particles for where a gun fires from appear to be set behind the soldier model.

the tags for the hands might be off then weapon_l and weapon_r afaik

the weapon itselves have tags, too. They contain the position where a soldier should take it into his hand.

If our wiki is correct, it seems like the weapon_l and weapon_r determine where the weapon is positioned. The weapon itself looks fine. It seems like the tag_muzzle in the weapon model is off, but that doesn't make sense since the weapons work fine on the other models. Is it possible that the coordinates for the tags are some how inverted (causing the tag_muzzle to appear behind instead of in front) while the weapon direction and position remains correct?

Thats not correct nate. The bug also appears on our current power suit model. I informed Origin some months ago about it.
====== tlh2000 (2012-03-12 20:01:04) ======

in latest master we can activate tag rendering with the cvar r_drawtags.

possibly an error in CL_ActorGetMuzzle
