Sometimes the game hangs up (with everything - mouse, keyboard, screen) on Linux after killing the last alien. The last thing I saw on console was experience gain counting of soldiers (AFAIR). I could do nothing else than connecting the machine on SSH and killing ufo.

I could reproduce it 3th times (twice in a row) and it seems it happens if the last alien is killed in their turn by reaction fire. Maybe the alien turn (?AI thread?) not closed properly when the game lib unloads?


System: AthlonXP 2000+ (1667MHz) 1G Ram, ATi Radeon 9600, Debian Lenny with open source video drivers.
uname -a: Linux gusztav 2.6.26-2-686 #1 SMP Thu Jan 27 00:28:05 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux

another attempt to fix this bug was made in 9b9cb48aa2046a73780a2c84e5e60089f086c636

the memory pool mutex lock mechanism might have lead to another deadlock - the sv log code is now no longer using any code that uses another mutex - so only svlog mutex is locked to manipulate the data in the buffer
