This time it is no feature request, but a bug report, because

This is a unnecessary waste of needed ressources !!!

There should be JUST those base textures in the material file processed & loaded into memory that are used on the map, not all that are defined as materials in the material file for the set of maps...
(I do not need to have any of the animation frames designated for a Corrupter only for example, when loading the specific map with a Harvester landing there...)

It should be relatively easy to implement performing a check (base texture names are to be found in *.map & *.bsp) before loading the material file, which base textures will be eventually used on the battlescape & then process just those base texture materials when interpreting the material file...


Setting this to priority 7 as it is really a unnecessary waste of ressources & texture slots needed for other stuff...
