+craftdrop firebird for various themes has some problems with how the tiles and squares have been organized. This leads to such things as soldiers not being able to walk through the open doors of the firebird on the ufocrash map, soldiers walking half in and half out of the back wall of the firebird on both industrial and farm missions etc.

Most of these problems would be solved if the tail end of the Firebird is moved half a tile back, so that there are full tiles inside. The squares adjacent the door are a different matter. See the screenshots. Unfortunately I don't have a ufocrash screenshot, but I have marked the squares that are impassable on that map in the other screenshots.

I don't know how many Firebird models there are, but since these various problems seem to crop up on several different ones, all Firebird models should be checked and fixed.

I'm now up to dev-2.4 revision 30011 and I've aded a screenshot of the tropical map firebird. This model has the impassable squares, but the soldiers do not walk inside the back wall as they do in the other screenshot.

This tracker item is a duplicate of 2997214. However, item 2997214 has a much less detailed and more vague description of the problem and lacks screenshots and console log excerpts. I recommend that it should be closed as a duplicate and the Firebird model issues concentrated to this tracker item as long as this remains open. I have cross-referenced this item in the comments of item 2997214.

After seeing a few more various Firebord missions, it seems that the entire Firebird model is half a square too short, which means that if the back wall is aligned correctly, the door corners become impassable. It's always one or the other. If the Firebird model is lengthened by that half square (making the doors that tiny bit wider, then it needs to be aligned correctly once and that model replicated into all Firebird craftdrop objects in the various maps.

The problem will vanish for good.

not exactly, because there are also invisible clipping brushes in the maps - and i think some of them might be redone, too.

Industrial and farm should be fixed in r30305. Please check if you get a chance. They were using an old version of the prefab with smaller actorclip areas, which means this problem may very well exist in other tiles. I don't have the time to check now, but please report anymore you find. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, the poor alignment of the doors which cause the impassable squares you noticed on tropic are not going to go away unless the model is changed. It's beyond my remit at this point.

Fix confirmed for farm and industrial Firebirds.

Problem still exists for forest map Firebirds.
