The normalmaps on some of my textures are causing the texture to be slightly offset in places. Also, it seems that where the normalmap creates depth the lines it creates are not blurred but appear sharp. See the attached images

Sure, I'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on. NateWr, could you give me instructions on how to replicate this (ie. what map to load, and if your textures aren't in the SVN, where I can download them)?

 @arisian : I know you've got plenty on your plate, but did you ever have a chance to look at this? If the normalmap issue isn't fixed by the release of 2.3, I'd like to remove the normalmap files for the release. My gfx card doesn't support the feature, so I can't test on my end.

The problem is being caused by the parallax mapping, which effectively shifts textures based on the bumpmap and viewing direction. I've disabled parallax for the 2.3 release, which fixes this issue, though in the long run I want to fix parallax so it works right. "Basic" (non-parallax) normalmaps work fine so far as I know, and don't have the issue you talk about in the city map.
