tested in r28831
1. ensure there is a crashed site on the geoscape.
2. click on the site using the geoscape short cut.
3. zoom in
4. click the shortcut again, notice that the geoscpae goes blank.

not reproducible here. "goes blank" means what? all items disappears from geoscape? geoscape disappears? menu disappears?

For me it didn't go blank but to the south pole, where then the rotating was impossible.

Addition to the reproduction steps:
- zoom in (3) a bit before it completely reaches the position.

The problem was that the ccs.angles got nan values. Should be fixed with r28981.
