Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/bugs/2354 Item 2354] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 19:30:37

During campaign mode a new mission showed up. While clicking on that (I attached at least a half screenshot!) I got this assertion bug:

ufo: src/client/menu/node/m_node_vscrollbar.c:400: MN_VScrollbarNodeDraw: Assertion >>y == pos[1] + node->size[1] - ELEMENT_HEIGHT<< failed.

ufo ai is r28506

Probably introduced during fixing icons on the backside of the geoscape.

Reproducable on attached savegame. Just hit fast forward. The next mission that pops up. Click on the appearing panel of the mission => crash
====== bekoszaf (2010-02-08 23:20:17) ======

Hit fast forward => click on mission panel upper left => crash
====== bekoszaf (2010-02-08 23:31:22) ======

crashes also on clicking on the mission on the geoscape directly. So my campaign is jammed if I don't want to ignore this mission.

not reproducible here with latest trunk (also tried the rev you posted) - what is the resolution you are using?
====== bekoszaf (2010-02-09 10:33:44) ======

I use 1280x1024 (fullscreen: no). Crash still occures with r28509. Changing to 1024x768 _WORKS_ so this is (again) resolution related.

* Oh, I take that back. During testing something different it crashed on 1024x768 at this point too.

* On 1024x768 it workes in most cases but not always.

* On 1280x1024 it crashes about always selecting this mission

* When I got my autosave after starting the mission it sometimes crashes now at this point on loading the quickslot when the geoscape centeres on the hotspot.
====== bayo-fr (2010-02-10 19:59:06) ======

It should mean the loop is wrong with some resolutions. I add an assert here for it.

I dont yet check, but maybe if you can post values of y, pos[1], node->size[1] it can help for very special cases, A node with a negative size, i dont know...
====== tlh2000 (2010-02-28 08:03:40) ======

is this still an issue?
====== tlh2000 (2010-03-02 21:00:38) ======

i will set this to pending in a few days if nothing new is reported here during that time.
====== thilosf (2010-03-23 10:19:39) ======

Got this crash recently with r29096 running on debian lenny:

ufo: src/client/menu/node/m_node_vscrollbar.c:400: MN_VScrollbarNodeDraw: Zusicherung >>y == pos[1] + node->size[1] - ELEMENT_HEIGHT<< nicht erfüllt.

Seems to be related to the screen resolution. Happens with 1280x1024, but NOT with 1024x768. The mission is

mission: 'cat2_interest150_0'
...category 2. 'Terror mission' -- stage 5. 'Terror mission underway'
...mapDef: 'farm_medium'
...location: 'Suva'
...start (day = 760892, sec = 68272), ends (day = 760893, sec = 81402)
...pos (-178.43, -18.13)(assigned Pos) -- mission on Geoscape
...UFO: craft_ufo_harvester (0/1)

Like in bekoszaf's screenshot, it is a mission on the farm map, but I cannot imagine this to be relevant.

The savegame with the mission already on geoscape can be grabbed here: http://thiloernst.de/slot7.xml (can't figure out how to attach a file to this bug report).
====== bayo-fr (2010-03-28 12:55:08) ======

problem come from
* non integer number into node position
* from layout rendering
* from MN_NodeGetPoint output

Thats not only a geoscape problem.

MN_NodeGetPoint output is now integer. Fixed in r29176
