Description
[http://sourceforge.net/p/ufoai/bugs/2071 Item 2071] imported from sourceforge.net tracker on 2013-01-28 19:18:54

hi, I'm using ufoai-2.3~~svn21570 from kubuntu nightly builds repository http://trylegaldownloads.de/ubuntu intrepid nightly-builds.

Once I launched ufo, as soon as the main menu screen is loaded, mouse pointer is flickering and cursor position is drifting quickly to screen border.

Reading ufoconsole.log, I saw this:

------- input initialization -------
1 possible joysticks
joystick 0 opened - set cvar in_joystickNo to change this
... name: Wacom Cintiq 21UX
... axes: 13
... hats: 0
... buttons: 23
... balls: 0

So, I suppose my Wacom tablet is seen as a joystick. Very annoying because gui game is really unusable.

For moment I use this workaround: I set
set in_joystickNo "1"
set in_joystick "0"
in my config.cfg. This way mouse behaves much more as expected, but "joystick is not active." message is continuously written to the term. I'll try to setup a script which redirect this to /dev/null, but this will not fix the bug.

Cheers

jMax

Ok

Problem still present in today compiled version
("version" is "UFO: Alien Invasion 2.3-dev i386 Mar 12 2009 Linux DEBUG")

Additional comment :

Message "joystick is not active." is continuously repeated into term. This message cames from function IN_StartupJoystick in cl_joystick.c source file. According docs this function is used to "Init available joysticks".

Is it normal that an init function is called contiuously ?

i've removed the console output - it was a leftover from some debugging code
