when i try to start the first mission (under windows xp on a pentium 3) the game attempts to load the mission, but promply crashes, any ideas?

Need more input:
* What system / graphic-card
* What version of the game ?
* What messages are in the logfile (base/ufoconsole.log) ?

i guess now that i really look at the output, it seems like parts of my game install itself are missing. which sucks.

The lack of theme.ogg should not be fatal. Something is still wrong. Could you perhaps run with an additional "+set developer 1" option and post the log?

Well, I don't have windows, but I suppose you can somehow open something like a Linux console, and then type in it "ufo.exe +set developer 1". Can you? The log will be saved in ufoai/base/ufoconsole.log.

if you open the icon for ufoai, you can edit the command to execute, as in
Code: [Select]
C:\Programme\Games\UFOAI-2\ufo.exe +set developer 1

well i got the game to load the world map and i can equip troops and such, but i cant launch a mission, any ideas?

The logfile is base/ufoconsole.log

To get more verbose logging, use the command set developer 1 in the console.
