It pains me to admit my n00b-ness but after going over the wiki files regarding compiling & debugging I have got no idea how to accomplish that task.

So, am I right in thinking that to create a backtrace I will need to compile the source-code from scratch? That may be beyond my skills at this point  ???

haha i agree about the toilet comment  :D

actually, i cut the length of this file by at least half - there were a lot more "toilet worthy" grunts on there to start with  ;D

interesting website... it's obviously only in its infancy (300 sound files total!???!?!?) but you've gotta start somewhere.

i made an account and have posted a couple of links to sounds in the appropriate threads.

could you please credit The Bard of Blasphemy if any sounds are used?

hmmm ambient is a very generic term!

I've recorded a couple of sounds for you people:

http://opengameart.org/content/moderate-rain-on-a-tin-roof-loop - rain on a tin roof... not sure if you need rain sounds I haven't been able to play the game yet so I don't know if you're implementing weather features into the game.

http://opengameart.org/content/static-noise-similar-to-an-untuned-tv-also-known-as-white-noise I think I read somewhere you need the sound of an untuned TV??? I generated three sound files and zipped them... it's white, pink and brown noise. They're computer generated, not from an actual TV, but it wouldn't be hard to get some more if that's really what you need.

in that case, I guess back to the original question: best place to host? stash them on mediafire.com (etc) and post a link? or is there somewhere we can ftp to directly?

just wondering where the developers would prefer these files hosted?

i've just opened a "freesound.org" account... if i post sounds to that site, and link to them from here, is that good enough?

also, what file specs are you guys are after? that is, mono/stereo, format (wav/mp3) & bitrate? maybe there should be a sticky outlining those requirements?

hmmm i've got the same issue, same error report (no map fitting craft_ufo_harvester applied to several cities) which results in the game crashing whenever I try to launch any kind of mission (campaign/skirmish)

I've tried searching the forum but haven't come across any fix although a couple of people seem to have the same issue.

I'm trying to run the stable version, 2.3, downloaded off sourceforge today.
OS = XP
Graphics = ATI Radeon X1700
Driver version = 8.282.0.0

dunno if any other info would help... please help I loved this game when I was growing up I'm very keen to have another go!

Ahhhh... in true "have a go first, read destructions later" I've just read that reporting bugs on the stable versions is considered poor-form... sorry!!!!
