Hi,

Windows 7 Ultimate, Acer laptop, ATI Radeon

I was using nightly builds up until Nov 25 2011. About Nov 28, I switched to Muton's builds and his update system and am currently fully updated to latest (Dec 2 2011 DEBUG build 1322763308).

Before this switch I had few if any crashes back main screen when attempting to load the battle screen at a mission site. I now have many such crashes (about half) and there is one at Budapest on the attached saved game that locks up so bad that I need Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill the game once I give the confirmation to "Enter". The CPU load jumps to 50%.

The common thread seems to be missions where a Harvester is involved. I have no trouble with UFOs I have shot down (I have not shot down a Harvester since this build switch). It is only the Terror, Harvesting, and UFO Landed missions that fail this way.

My November 30 post "Teleporting Dropship" is part of what has appeared as well. I have had two more of these since I reported that one. I believe that all of these were Harvester related.

Muton's build 2.4dev-IA32 Nov 28 2011 Win32 DEBUG build 1322419209

Harvesting Mission, Industrial theme, Landed UFO map, approx area of Chicago, USA

Dropship could not land, i.e., always crashed back to main.
Saved the game(attached) and reloaded(Reload.jpg). Note the green hand mouse cursor rather then the cross hairs cursor.

Clicked mission site, chose to land, and pink travel line appeared on map from a different location, Galapagos Iles??, but ship landed as if it was over Chicago(NewRoute.jpg).

Map loaded properly but crashed back to main on 5th alien killed or so. The dropship is now located at that different spot(Teleport.jpg).

I reloaded until finished mission and ship is at that same wrong spot on return to main.

Hi,

I was using Muton's build with an Alt-Tab fix (Oct 7) but moved to nightly builds(using Oct 31) to help testing. I can Alt-Tab back to the Desktop or other apps but my mouse pointer is frozen. Key strokes and the rest work.

I saw an older note that the there will be a fix for this. Has this happened???

Hi,

I was unable to u/l the events.log and the stats.log because of the the attachment size  limits. I split the stats.log and have given you the last few bits of events.log that appear to apply.

How would I get these all to you if you wish?

A battle crashed a couple of times and I remembered that when I played this last(about a year ago), one could often crash the battlescape by repeated retries. I spent the last day or two doing lots of retries and this was the first assertion I got. I am not sure of what I was doing and the phase but will watch for it.

Was in battlescape(+farm2), screen went black.
stats.log says one of mine died, never saw it.

I use retry several times when testing a battle scape. I found that it can cause this. That was the case here too.

I went to the nightly builds and these issues went away.

I had to turn off the GLSL shaders to get any speed enhancements. I get the same frame rate regardless of the screen now. I do miss not having the city lights showing on the night side.

1) When the game crashes, I am asked if I want to send in the console and config logs . I say yes. Are these sent in automatically or do I need to send them manually?

2) The wide open farm with few obstacles often has holes in the landscape as the screen shots show. I went to a newer nightly build and have not seen this lately.(Hole1,2,3 jpg)

3) Same map as above, there is a vertical steel plate or some such in the middle of a grassy area(Plate.jpg).

4) There should be a way to check on the in-flight transfers so I can check ETAs and cargo en route.

5) Click on Base Summary. When one clicks on the icons for the other bases, there is no name change feedback so you know which you are on.

6) When two(or more) identical missions reach their respective destinations at approximately the same time, it can be difficult to figure out which one you are working with from the Enter, Auto Mission, or Cancel dialog screen.

Asus K52N laptop AMD Turion II P540 Dual-core 2.4GHz 6GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200 with AMD M880G

v2.4-dev IA-32 OCT 7 2011 Win32 DEBUG build 1317990189 (Muton's package)

No config or logs or dumps as these are in general, everywhere. Do have screen shots.
Turned off much of the better graphics and resolution to make it playable.

1) Frame rate cut in at least half on geoscape of battle screen. I have an ATI and this problem is known.

2) Aircraft screen. I have a Firebird and a Stiletto. Clicking in to the screen or from Stiletto does not display Soldiers Tab. I need to click Equioment and then the Tab appears.

3) Alt-Tab while battle is loading = freeze

4) Firebird on the battle screen show the graphic frame (yellow lines)(Firebird.jpg)

5) Parkade Big city battle screen. Ground level is level 2. Switch to level 1 and get black screen with a few graphic framework lines.

6) Unable to get past door on second story of bar (Blocking.jpg on same map as Firebird.jpg)
