only 2 fps under linux

Revision 4768 under Ubuntu 6.10 Intel P4 3GHz, Intel845G, 1Gb mem  and I'm getting only ~2 fps. I have tried both sdl and glx. Q3 and GoogleEarth are fast enough. Any ideas?

i think that this is driver related - is this the newest available version of your video-driver?

Intel 945 chips with the free Linux drivers don't seem to play too nicely with the game.

We would love to fix it. It might be something simple, but I'm not sure where to even begin trying.
