I had been playing along just fine, and got my new dropship built. I haven't quite figured out the crew dialogs (not used to actually seeing scientists, I prefer they remain faceless automatons lol), so it's possible I"m breaking it.
Anyway, I saved right after I bought a dropship at base2. I went to the dropship and saw I have little gear at the new base so I switch to the original base to do a transfer. BAM, drop to desktop with a popup box entitled:
