Greetings
« on: May 10, 2012, 08:07:03 pm »
Hi all.
I just registered here. Presentations are not my strong side, but I do love UFO:AI. It was a mere chance of dice that made me find this place. At the moment I am playing 2.4 dev. version, since the new 2.4 (full) release does not install for me.

I would be grateful if someone would like to help me or give me some advice.

This is my configuration.
  • win7 64bit Ultimate
  • AMD Phenom II x4 3.2Ghz
  • GTX 460 1 Gig SOC
Thank you in advance.  8)

Hello,

First of all: What does it mean it doesn't install?

If you have 2.4-dev installed, you should uninstall it first.

Hi again.
I tried to install the latest complete version. I get the following error message:

Installer integrity check has failed.
Common causes include incomplete
download and damaged media.
Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy.

NSIS_Error

The file size is 784 Mb on my HD. The download link says it's 969 Mb.
I'm confused.
Help please.

Thank you Crystan. I'm installing Desura now. Hopefully it will work through that.
Sourceforge was the place I downloaded the installer that was incomplete.

Well you dont need to DL and install desura. Just download the UFO:AI installer here.

The cause of your corupted dl is probably a lost internet connection while you downloaded it - iam very certain that the file on sourceforge is not corupt ;)

Hmm. I'm starting to suspect that I have serious problems with my computer. I'm getting bs's (bluescreen's,(memorydump)). I suspect it has something to do with my ssd drive.
Since ssd in AHCI mode is new to me, I probably have wrong settings in bios and win7.
I'm at a crossroad and can't decide what OS I shall pick (might as well wipe and fresh install).
I'm thinking, Kubuntu or win7 x64 ultimate.
