poedit problem
« on: February 22, 2008, 08:48:21 pm »
Started enthusiastically to edit some language entries in the de.po with Poedit and later when I wanted to check what I changed by comparing I realized the formating got totally screwed over: (deleted)
Should have used PSPad right away lol
The file is too big to be uploaded at sourceforge so what now? I can only see wiki entries for the big placeholders, which are a pain to translate, did only 1 of them :P

You should use the wiki (http://ufoai.ninex.info/wiki/index.php/List_of_msgid) to translate the long texts (ufopedia, mails, story, etc..) and edit directly the po files for game strings.

Ah k, that is about what I thought.

lol looks like the tiny big text I translated is not yet implemented in the game, also realized the lines assiciated to armour in the po file is off, as they added new armour types in the SVN :D

I updated it for rev15164  so it's only a compare and merge, if devs want to implement it. http://rapidshare.com/files/94225315/de.po.html

as he said - translate the big articles on the wiki (otherwise they are lost with the next automatically update)

if you translate short strings in the po - upload a diff to our patch tracker, not  the hole file, please

What should I do with untranslated strings, that are not even in the en.po for the 2.3 TRUNK?
On a 2nd thought: You can get all the strings to be translated at once out of the code with a program? :P

[geo]
Crashed UFO
Landed UFO
An industrial area in a cold region.

[battle]
Reload weapon (%i TU).
Stand up (%i TU)
Crouch (%i TU)
