Of course everything in the game needs to fit into the general design of the game. But, if somebody contributes like this and we donĀ“t want to or we are not able to use it in the game, why should one contribute at all?

At least all the "bla bla" itt gives me an idea about why this project is moving sidewards for ages now.

We got 3 different assault rifle models already...and you want to use this for the assault rifle?

Talk about a waste.. Re-doing the same weapon 10 times insted of adding new ones.

I made 2 models for the assault rifle.  Two different verison of the VHS. Then there's the stock assualt rifle. That's 3 different assault rifle models availalbe.

It's a waste of resources to now use a 4th model for the exact same thing.



Speaking of ammo - I will make different ammo entries for some weapons. The models themselves should be simple enough - it's the same magazine/missile model with just a different texture.

RED - incendiary
BLUE - hollow point
YELLOW - HEAP
GREEN - plasma (for missiles)
PURPLE - anti-matter? (also missiles)

You know what I would like to see? Primary and secondary damage for weapons.

So a bullet can deliver two types of damage.

For exampe a HEAP bullet.
Does 10 kinetic damage and 20 explosive. Gives you room to play with.

Maybe even special flags...like "penetrator".
Penetrator weapons half the armor bonus for secondary damage.
Impact weapons reduce TU's (simulating getting the air knocked uot of you)
Etc...

Just a quick note: explosive bullets in typical assault rifle calibers are unrealistic. They simply do not have enough free volume for a significant charge. Minimal caliber for which HE bullets exist is 12.7mm. And they contain about 1 gram of explosive, delivering about 1/5 of energy when compared to the kinetic energy of the same bullet (4000J vs 18000J).

Well, this IS the future...more powerfull explosive substances may have an impact. Altough I do agree with you that the benefit is highly questionable as it is now.

Some more experimentation with dropships.

Basicly, engines at the end of the wings that swivel (possible engine on the tail that swivel too).
Except the concept with the red line. The entire wing, from that line onward swivels in that case.

The wings/engine do provice cover for troops.

- pulse laser (and long variant)

- Starfire interceptor
- coilgun (I have to re-do this one)
- EMP rifle
- Phoenix interceptor (the black on on the image with the dropships)
- ugv

So what exactly of all of this do you even have in the repository?

Starfire was initally made for hte Starchaser slot..so thje md2 is probable named like that.
Coilgun is definately in the game, since you're usign it ATM :P
The UGV refers to the thank in the image, but I suppose it's ag iven you don't have that one, since I never sent over the mesh IIRC.

I reccomend Truspace 5.1... but TS is now free anyway IIRC, so you might as well get the latest one.
