Saracen lasers running out of ammo

so yeah.. equipped my Saracen with lasers which apparently dint need ammo and when i send it to intercept UFOs i get a message saying its run out of ammo after the first salvo so it returns to base and invariably gets shot down en route

anyone else having this problem?

You don't need to assign ammo for it but it's not infinite. It's automatically refilled on base.

ah i see... so is there any way to increase the amount it can store, atm it lasts about a second.
