Doesn't that go both ways? I'd be hesitant to say that alien tech is always better. In most respect, yes. But technological progress is not a linear road..nor a tree. More like a friggin forest.

It stands to reason that two species, evolving and growing on different planets, would develop their technology differently. We might look into more detail in some areas the aliens haven't, come up with a few ingenius solutions they missed...and vice-versa.

Sure, that's true, but that's not the point. The point is that the aliens' technology outperforms human technology on all fronts, because that's what the game is about. The whole UFO formula revolves around the concept of technologically superior aliens overwhelming humanity, and humanity beating them by reverse-engineering their tech and using it against them.

So alien technology is not "different", it is better. By definition.

I'd avoid making anvilicious points. As a general rule, people don't like em.

You can easily get the point across of alien tech being more advanced, without taking every bit of inovative spark from humanity.

Take for example something simple - like the concept of multiple rotating barrels. Let's say the aliens might have never thought of that. They moved to lasers and plasma sooner. Their technology is more efficient, and they would make more efficient gattling guns...if they ever tried.

So we could see human solutions getting updated with alien tech..and consequently, aliens taking a few cues from us.

It's not a matter of what's plausible, it's a matter of what's in line with the game formula.

Aren't they already taking the modular weapon systems for aircraft from us?

It's not a matter of what's plausible, it's a matter of what's in line with the game formula.

I'd argue that humans having a few bits of inventiveness is not against that formula, but that's beside the point.

New anims - yes or no?

I'm willing to model all the backpacks if you guys like the idea..

Hmm..should backpacks be a item that completely fills your backapck slot? I guess some, like a ammo backpack or a napalm backpack might..

Out of fun I have made some heavy weapon models.

plasma thrower, heavy flamer, gattling gun, heavy plasma cannon - all are carried minigun-style, with large power/fuel/ammo packs on the back.

So I ask - how feasable is for such weapons to be put into the game?
