Unable to enter missions

Hello,
I installed the game via the installer to a fresh ubuntu lucid system. Now, I can't enter missions: the mission loading screen flashes, but then it throws me back to the geoscape.

Seems like I have some older version lurking somewhere, messing things up. I'll remove all ufoai directories and do a reinstall, let's see where that gets me.

Okay, now I've got a working 2.2.1. I tried to compile the game earlier, maybe that messed it up.

...and the reason for the original weird behavior seems to be that I forgot to make maps... ::)

most probably missing game.so (or it is in wrong dir).

OK. What place correct?
I place the library to /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/ directory, like into official packages for Debian.

I see directory /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/ don't work now. In all early versions, up to 2.2.1, it work.
I place game.so to directory with data files /usr/share/games/ufoai/base and mission enter begin work fine.
