Just checked out the new MAKE file in trunk.
1) Unfortunately it gave an error: 'ufo2map' not found.. Now that the new Make file is in trunk it should be possible to relate to it on a relative path. Without having to copy it to 'usr/bin' ...
2) the make file in src copies the ufo-binary to trunk, the new make leaves it in debug---, where one has the same relative path problem, that without declaring a new PATH - it won't find anything.
