Won't save, "file size mismatch"

You can't find the log location from the very first question in that FAQ under "General"?

   *  Where can I find the savegames, screenshots, config.cfg and ufoconsole.log?
          o This depends on your OS:
                + Linux: /home/<username>/.ufoai/<version>/
                + Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\UFOAI\<version>\
                + Windows Vista: \Users\<username>\appData\Roaming\UFOAI\<version>\
                + Windows98 - german version: \windows\Anwendungsdaten\ufoai\<version>\
                + MacOSX: /Users/<username>/.ufoai/<version>/ (prior to 2.3)
                + MacOSX: /Users/<username>/Documents/UFOAI-<version>/ (>= 2.3)
          o Screenshots are in those directories in ./base/screenshots/, savegames are in ./base/save/

Guess what everybody, I'm back trying to do this again.

Alright, so, to install it, must I compile it. OK so in order to do that, must I have the Xcode IDE tools, to do the compiling?

I looked for a download but it seems like I'd have to pay for it.  After a quick search of my comp it looks like I do not have those tools.

I'm not going to bother and "download" it because I've tried it and it never works. Something's fucked up and I dont know what. Remember, it's not that it won't play, just that it won't save. When I look for the ufoconsolog thing I cannot find it on my computer, not on your website, Destructavator.
