R25862 - black models

With Odie's latest compilation all the models are black voids. I just see their silhouettes nothing more.






The settings I used are the default ones.

I've both seen and fixed this problem on my machine several times before - but for the life of me I can't remember off-hand what the fix is.   :P

(Assuming the cause of the problem is the same.)

Turning off GLSL shaders help usually.

Oh dang. I DLd the latest revision just so I can see the new neat shader effects. :(

I'm using the latest 190.62 WHQL Nvidia GeForce drivers btw.

I dont think WHQL care about GLSL compliance.

Thank you all, especially to Geever --- the turning off the shaders solved the problem.

What does the shaders do if it works properly?

@Bayo: Yep there are a lot of bugged WHQL drivers I've had my fair share of them. That's also why I mentioned my drivers. Mayhap it has an issue with the game who knows?

Some nice effects on maps. bump mapping, model lightnings, and so on.

for me it was the last

Hmm I don't think it's my card --- it can run retail games and other freeware games just fine.

I'll try Tweakforce's 190.62 tomorrow.

Maybe your OpenGL driver is bad, and freewares you talk about use DirectX.
On the game startup logs, we display info about your OpenGL driver.

From the statement I thought that the log would reveal to you guys if there's anything wrong with my OpenGL drivers. Apparently, from your question, the log is useless.

So how do I know what's wrong with my game? What's screwing up the game if I check the shaders option?

Thanks for any helpful reply and please be patient with my questions as I've no knowledge about coding and stuff.

i was unable to use shaders too - whatever driver version i've used, everytime black models

i had to replace my card cause of broken fan and now everything works fine, including shaders

don't know if the shaders require gl-3 or if just nvidia is unable to use shaders with GF7 ... don't have a clue :(
