Entry Point Not Found
« on: May 23, 2009, 01:16:24 am »
Righ, so I tried running the latest dev version (Mutons Diff patch), and got an error saying that:

"The procedure entry point libintl_snprintf could not be located in the dynamic link library intl.dll."

Did someone forget something, or is my computer yanking my leg?

How about Odie's last compilation? I'm NOT sure but doesn't that one have Muton's patch?

...No idea...I dont really bother with Odies updates because my connection times out, and I dont want to download the nakido flag.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the dll file was missing in the first place. Only after downloading it did I get this error message

Hmm that's really odd. I don't have to DL the Nakido flag to DL his files. Odd. I just push "Download file" and it does. I don't even have an account in there nor have I heard of the site/company before this.

I have the same problem with Mutons' build 24430. Apparently 24458 already comes with a new intl.dll (though I haven't tried it yet).

there should be an intl.dll or libintl[3].dll in the codeblocks archive - please try to use that one and report back.

having issues with that download. It starts around 250 kbps and slows down to about 30 kbps, where it stops downloading

Ah, this sounds very familiar. Are u using Win XP / Vista, having a local proxy / ISP proxy which filters certain sites? This site was flagged before for porn (since it DOES distribute alot of porn).

To get around, just get the nakido flag, run it, and then when done with download, manually terminate from TSR. They will do it. (i.e. Alt + CTRL + Del, find nakido on process list, end process. Yes).

U r using a similar speed bandwidth as i do (2.5Mbps for me), so should not timeout, unless u have spywares / adwares..... maybe scan ur system? or switch to mozilla firefox? IE timeouts like nobody business. Use firefox's download manager will help heaps too. :D

If problem still, can always ask Ildamos or me. :D

Heh, yeah, u just reminded me that its similar to nakido. But Mattn's link wanst on Nakido.
XP, and I highly doubt Comcast is blocking. I'll not say anything that shouldnt be said in mixed company beyond that.

And yeah, FF does have a better download manager. I just never got around to it. And it possible my system picked up a bug. Its been acting wierd lately

ufo.exe dont need intl.dll any more
remove it or replace it using the last patch

Yea, if you want a working C::B package don't use mine!

I start to get frustrated

Err, so as a complete newbie who's just trying to play the game, what do I do to fix the problem please? I downloaded 23710 and 24458 and it doesn't start. I'm getting confused with all the talk about a c::B package (whatever that is), whether I need it to try the game, and why I'm getting an error on intl.dll when according to the binary's post, I am running the last patch (I only downloaded it today!)
I'm assuming C::B is the codeblocks package by the link, but I would guess that's for developers? And it's yet another 100MB so I don't want to download it if I don't need it and it doesn't fix the problem

Sorry if the answers obvious to everyone else, I only just stumbled across the game yesterday and I'm really looking forward to playing it!!!

Hi, welcome to the game,

Yes, Codeblocks, or C::B is for developers, it's a program used to write and build the game code.  If you're not a programmer and just want to play the game, you don't need it and wouldn't want it.

The current development 2.3 version has a lot of issues right now and isn't finished.  If you want a stable and official release to play, without bugs and such, you may want to download 2.2.1 from sourceforge.

You're welcome to try out 2.3 development builds, but please understand they are mostly for bug-testing at this time and aren't as stable.

Also, you are better off installing 2.2.1, the stable version. I've tried two development builds before and they're simply unplayable (circa 2-3 weeks ago). They provide you a peek into the future of this project though.

It's a crystal ball I like peering into.  ;)
