Mac binary thread (now 26313)
« on: May 17, 2009, 07:43:24 am »
I'm uploading a universal binary for 24430 to
http://www.stb04.nccom.com/ftp/UfoAi/build-24430/

Known issues:
1. On a G4 mac, map graphics are ugly unless both real time lighting and GLSL shaders are both turned on. G5 not tested. but assumed to be the same.
2. Not actually tested on x86 :-).

(Uploading now as I type; give it 4 hours to finish.)

Thanks keybounce.

It runs on a 2008 MBP.

I think there's a problem in the "Buy/Sell Equipment" tab though. If I do these things, I can repeat it:

  • New Single Player Campaign
  • New base (in Virginia) - choose no employees or buildings.
  • Add the needed buildings
  • Hire employees
  • Now Buy/Sell Equipment

For me, the autosell checkmarks are off-by-four. And when I click in the appropriate place to buy something (say, an assault rifle), the tally doesn't change on -that- line, but on the line a couple rows down. I've actually bought a sniper rifle. And if I try to buy a sniper rifle, I'm buying a riot shotgun. (Which I can check by going ahead and buying aircraft and equipping my guys.)

Is this a known bug?

at least none that i know of (in that form)

exactly four? maybe a byte <=> int endian issue? or maybe a general bug on little endian systems, too?

The Buy/Sell Screen its on ALL gear that way, it seems to be off, by 2 spaces, SO all items you click on your really effecting 2 spaces under it.

And it Primary, Secondary and Heavy Weapons it does it. Notice it X's all the items also even if not X or Checked.

1 other Bug i notice, IF courching, and raise up it does not allow you to move, if you click off soldier and back onto the soldier you can move, and if you are courching from the round before you can also move at the higher cost.

3rd time this has happen so buggy, on the firebird, the south works fine, but the northern exit of the plane the top one, seems to stick, Soldiers who start outside the plane great shape, but those in the plane it acts like thats a solid wall so can not go that way on movement.

The steps are in the Wiki.

You have to install XCode (on your OS X disc), and macports.  Macports steps are in the wiki.

Ok, Macports won't install all the dependencies on 10.6 yet.

Next, on Tiger the make for the app is trying to include radiant even if you did the ./configure --disable-uforadiant

Bah, back to 2.2 for a while.   I liked 2.3 until I ran into the stairs issue.  Anybody know of a version of 2.3 prior to the stairs issue being introduced?

skip the --disable-uforadiant and it should work
