Request for source package
« on: July 26, 2006, 05:29:30 pm »
Hi!
I want to make port of UFO:AI to FreeBSD. To do that I need source package (as ports collection is unable to checkout source from SVN). So, what do you think about releasing source tarball along with binary packages? (the best thing would be source and separata data packages, but I guess I can use data from linux binary package).
Thanks.

So, I want source package too :) (for gentoo), but I think, it is better to wait stable 2.0 version.

Hi,

I'm stumbled over some inconsistency about the naming convention in recent release files.
Till 2.3 the names in http://sourceforge.net/projects/ufoai/files/UFO_AI 2.x/{VERSION} look like:
ufoai-{VERSION]-source.tar.bz2
ufoai-{VERSION]-data.tar
...

But now there are some exceptions:
data.tar &
i18n.tar.bz2

Could someone rename/link them to ufoai-2.3-data.tar & ufoai-2.3-i18n.tar.bz2?

Thanks

I've created a Wiki-page for a not-yet installable but playable draft UFO:AI 2.3 FreeBSD port.

Thanks Mattn

In contrast to amdmi3 it is possible to checkout svn with a ports/Makefile and a little hack.
So 2.4-dev is also available on FreeBSD for testing purposes.
Check out the FreeBSD Wiki page.
