Regarding RMA and levels
« on: August 18, 2008, 09:23:08 am »
I was just considering something, and it has led me to this question/proposal.  Would it be possible for RMA tiles to be stacked?  Example:  One tile 256x256 that spans levels 1 & 2, and another 256x256 tile placed atop it spanning levels 3 & 4.  It seems to me that the second tile would have to be specially made to occupy the 128-256 heights, and have its levelflags set accordingly, so it might not be as simple as merely bumping up a lower-level tile, but would this sort of random map generation be possible with the tiles constructed properly?

The thoughts that led to this question included: randomly generating generic high-rise office building interiors (with each floor randomized); interchangeable floor layouts for some larger RMA buildings; mountainous overhangs which could span over other tiles, etc.
