I've just downloaded Muton's latest build, but it won't install :(

It says that it can't open pk3.7z an archive. I've tried downloading the newest version of 7Zip, but the file still refuses to unpack....

Any ideas? I suppose I can download destructavatar's latest, but I'm on limited bandwidth here for the moment, so if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it   :)

Maybe you just lack free space on disk C? Needed no less than 2 GB. This archive is copyied first in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp.

Are you sure you got the whole installer?
It should be 602.898.228 Bytes in size

If not use wget to download the rest of it
wget --tries=5 --retry-connrefused --continue --timeout=30 --output-document="full path to your partial downloaded file" http://tinyurl.com/yfau6d8

I have the whole installer, and I have 5gb on my system drive...

The output for the installer is:

Output folder: E:\DOCUME~1\SCHNOO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp
Skipped: pk3.7z
Skipped: 7za.exe
Skipped: makepk3_full.cmd
Execute: "E:\DOCUME~1\SCHNOO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\makepk3_full.cmd" "pk3.7z" "C:\UFOAI-2.3-dev\base"

Then it opens a command window and says "system cannot find the file specified..." right before it tries to open the archive.

Just a thought, all my system stuff is on drive E:, not C:, and right before it tries to open the archive, it says "system cannot find the file specified...". Is the installer designed to search for something on drive C:?

I have the same .pk3 problem.
I tried to install over my current UFO AI install.
Also tried in a new folder, didnt work.

Also, does that version make soldiers to actually use reaction fire ?

Wait, I found what was wrong :

I first tried to install the release, but noticed the base folder wasnt were my current installation was. So I cancelled the installation and restarted it to point to the right folder.

The problem is that the installer, when run again, does not check for the integrity of the pk3.7z file that already exists in the temp folder. So the installer sees the pk3 file already here and does not bother re-creating it. Tries to open it, fails.

Solution : Just delete the pk3.7z file from your temp folder (c:\users\*username*\appdata\temp\ for Windows 7).

I have already checked out your buildscript some time ago & have to tell you once again, that it really rocks  ;D !!!
Setup the stuff once & from now on you get a redistributable up-to-date version of UFO:AI with 1 click ! GREAT !
