When the dropship arrives at a mission-site, sometimes the
"Cancel/Auto/Enter"-Dialog does not appear for a long time
(the mission can even expire, or the ship can run out of fuel)
while hovering above the site.

Sounds like a bug. Care to report it on sf? (With ufolog, ways to reproduce, version, OS, etc.)

Not enough 'hard evidence' yet for a bugreport.

But I noticed that it can happen also when returning to base,
i.e. dropship hovering over the base for 2-3 days.

Perhaps the TorF patches will fix that. Or TorF himself. :)

Now in RC4-2, the message "Ready for drop down" comes up
when the dropship is about 100 km away from the site.
